Why Visit
The town and the port of Agios Efstratios are located in the northwestern part of the island. The village is quite new, as the residents had to move in a new settlement due to the earthquake of 1968. The island has superb beaches (Agios Dimitrios, Lidario, Frangou, Trypiti Alonitsi), most at Western orientation, which guarantees spectacular sunsets. The hills and valleys are full of oaks, in many cases reaching the coast.
